Air Blue Flight 202
Air Crash Consultants
July 28 2010 is a date that will go down in history as the date of the deadliest crash in Pakistan's history. 146 passengers and 6 crew members. All were lost while landing in a monsoon at Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
They were almost home.
Witnesses wondered why it seemed as if "the plane had lost balance, and then we saw it going down." Why it was flying so low? Why did it strike the mountain?
We wonder too.
For the families, the question remains: what happened? Or simply, why?
Airbus has promised that they would provide full technical assistance to Pakistani authorities. The black box, found July 31, is being handled Bureau d'Enquêtes et d'Analyses pour la Sécurité de l'Aviation Civile. It will be an international effort to find out why.
We advocate for maintaining dialogue and transparency for the families of crash victims.
Families look for justice.
Families have a right to know what happened—and how and why.
Families who look for support should find support. We are here to spur the fight on your behalf.
